Description

This viral Trader Joe’s Dumpling Bake features frozen gyoza baked in a creamy Thai coconut curry sauce. Ready in 30 minutes with just 5 minutes of prep – the easiest weeknight dinner!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bag (16 oz) Trader Joe’s Chicken Gyoza Potstickers (frozen)
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) Trader Joe’s Organic Coconut Cream
  • 1/2 bottle (11 oz) Trader Joe’s Thai Red Curry Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Trader Joe’s Soyaki Sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger (optional)
  • 3 baby bok choy, halved (optional)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach (optional)
  • Trader Joe’s Crunchy Chili Onion for garnish
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped for garnish
  • Sliced green onions for garnish
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Position the rack in the center.
  2. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, whisk together the coconut cream, Thai red curry sauce, Soyaki sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger until smooth and evenly combined.
  3. If adding vegetables like bok choy or spinach, nestle them into the sauce now.
  4. Place the frozen dumplings in a single layer in the sauce. Do not thaw them. Spoon some sauce over the tops to coat them.
  5. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the dumplings are cooked through and tender.
  6. Remove the foil and broil for 2-3 minutes until the dumpling tops become golden and slightly crispy. Watch carefully to prevent burning.
  7. Remove from oven. Top generously with chili crisp, fresh cilantro, sliced green onions, and sesame seeds. Serve immediately over steamed jasmine rice.

Notes

  • Never thaw the dumplings before baking – they cook better from frozen and stay more tender.
  • Use full-fat coconut cream for the richest sauce. Lite coconut milk will make a thin, watery result.
  • Don’t skip the broil step at the end – it adds the crispy edges that make this dish special.
